Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH)

POAH is a nationally recognized nonprofit specializing in the acquisition, rehabilitation and long-term preservation of affordable housing. Since its founding in 2001, POAH has preserved or created over 12,000 units of homes at 115+ properties in 11 states and the District of Columbia. The POAH team has an extensive background in affordable and multifamily housing development.

Landon Bone Baker

Landon Bone Baker is a Chicago based architecture firm that utilizes innovative designs and community outreach for neighborhood planning and the development of affordable housing. LBBA previously worked with POAH on The Woodlawn Park revitalization which replaced the Grove Parc Plaza Apartments from 2011 to 2015.

Crane Construction

Crane Construction, a versatile Chicagoland based construction company that has worked on commercial, hospitality and residential projects, is the preconstruction GC for this development. Additionally, Crane was the original General Contractor responsible for building Island Terrace 52 years ago. The project will be bid in Spring of 2022.

POAH Communities

POAH Communities has specialized in the professional management of affordable multifamily housing for more than 15 years and currently manages all of POAH’s subsidized and market apartments totaling over 12,000 units, including over 2700 here in Illinois. POAH Communities has a 400+ person staff. The apartment communities managed by POAH Communities range vary in age, size, geography and style, including single family units, townhouses, garden-style and high-rise apartment buildings. POAH Communities’ broad experience and knowledge provide both POAH and its financing partners with confidence that their properties are performing at their maximum potential.
